Professional Focus
Research area in microbial interactions with chemical components of lake and soil environments. In particular studies biophysical cycling of metals such as iron, manganese, and chromium and how that effects microbial functional genes and community structure. New research in the lab is working to understand how disturbances in freshwater lakes and coastal wetlands impact microbial community resistance and resilience and overall ecosystem function.
